This presentation provides an overview of Parks Canada’s work in recent years to better connect youth to Canada’s heritage places, and will discuss specific initiatives implemented along Canada’s canals.
The Parks Canada Agency is responsible for protecting and presenting nationally significant examples of Canada’s natural and cultural heritage. Recognizing that today’s youth are tomorrow’s supporters and visitors of Parks Canada places, initiatives have been developed in recent years to increase the connections made with youth. Increasing interaction with younger Canadians and identifying subcategories of youth through specific target market segments are key strategies being used to inform Parks Canada’s efforts.
