Presented at DDD Meetup Vienna.
When we want to use DDD, first and foremost we have to understand our domain. Only then can we begin to identify bounded contexts and work out their ubiquitous languages.
In a short, interactive workshop, I'll show you how to develop a domain with domain storytelling: domain experts tell one of their workflows as a "domain story". We listen to them, ask questions and write down the story with the help of a pictographic language. As a result, the experts see immediately whether we have understood them. After only a few domain stories, we can talk about roles, tasks, tools, work items and domain events.
After the workshop, I will explain domain storytelling and give practical examples. Participants can decide whether to finish the meetup with a Q&A session, a second workshop, or learn more about the different uses of domain storytelling.
